1. Johnny B. Goode by Chuck Berry (1958): Johnny B. Goode is an autobiographical account of Berry’s career. The main character worked his way up from nothing to be a star playing his guitar. He changed the lyrics from “colored boy” to “country boy” to cross over. America remained highly segregated and Berry feared the original reference might scare off radio.
